Welcome to the official website for cottage owners and leaseholders of Emerald Lake, Saskatchewan. The purpose of this site is to provide all interested stakeholders with helpful and up-to-date information from the governing bodies of Emerald Lake.

As good stewards of the lake we are all dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of our lake through the preventative and/or remedial best practices that will safeguard the ecological health of Emerald Lake for future generations. Stewardship is about all of our citizens and stakeholders taking action that will help protect water quality.

We are committed to representing the needs, wants and expectations of our community through the provision of services that protect and preserve Emerald Lake and its surroundings, respect the interests of our stakeholders, and provide opportunities for fellowship amongst us all.

By working together for the betterment of Emerald Lake we hope this venue will provide everyone with an opportunity to stay informed and get involved.

History

Formerly known as Ruxee Lake it was renamed Emerald for its clean, beautiful, spring fed water. In the 1920′s the Royal Municipality #465 applied to the Department of Natural Tourism for the lease on Emerald Lake. In the 1930′s this lease was turned over to the Avebury Community Club. By as early as 1932 the club noted a substantial increase in the use of the resort. They recorded 30 to 40 campers spending the entire summer. In the 1950′s the lease for Emerald Lake Resort was turned over to the Leask Branch of the Canadian Legion. In 1968 the Leask Legion turned the lease over to President Hector Duncan and Secretary C.E. Harris and Emerald Lake became a Regional Park.

In 19xx, ten lakefront lots were sold along the Eastern shore of the lake and Emerald Lake North . . .

In 2012, this collaborative website was developed as a forum to improve communication with stakeholders and ensure everyone access to accurate information regarding all lake activities.
