- We are ordering memorial plaques this week, please get your order into the main office or email manager@emeraldlake.org with your message for the memorial garden. Plaques are $35 plus tax
- New this week we have SKOR cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches. These won't last long! Already sold out at the beach store, grab them at the main store!
- The Thickwood Hills Artist studio Tour happens in our area every year. This year it is happening August 9th and 10th (10am – 5pm). Artists open their workshops for studio tours and art sales in our community! This year Emerald is featured as a place to stop and eat on the tour. We are opening up some tables at the beach for you to showcase and sell your art to our community! This would be the 9th and 10th from 11am – 5 pm or any portion of time in there. If you would like to reserve a table email manager@emeraldlake.org.
- Our garbage’s are filling up at an increased rate. Please remember that any large garbage needs to be taken to the Leask transfer station (or to the city). Things we have seen in the garbage recently that do not belong:
o A microwave
o Lawn chairs
o Giant boxes (please flatten all boxes and put in our paper recycling bin)
o A side table
- Our second set of beach stairs got installed this week! Finally we can get up and down the drop off at the main beach with much greater ease. Thanks to Earl for all the hard work and to the water authority for the permission to amend the public beach and make it more accessible for the youngest and oldest of us.
- The fridge has a shelving unit that attaches – meaning we can finally get rid of the last of our ‘make do’ kitchen fixtures! Now all of our tables are stainless steel and easy to sanitize. Hooray!
- The entrance to the park is finished updating! We have painted a giant mural, trimmed trees and moved signs to make a more welcoming atmosphere as you drive up to the office. Let us know if you like it! Our mural team included: Leni, Sadie, Neve, Abby, Ben, Gus, and of course Crispi. Our hats are off to them!
- EmFest silent auction items are starting to pile up in the office! We are excited about the long weekend and hope you will join us by volunteering, playing a sport, playing an instrument, being in the golf cart parade or joining in on any number of activities! Remember to get your silent auction item in – If you need a donation letter for your place of work drop an email to manager@emeraldlake.org or elrpstaff@gmail.com
- We installed our new sandwich table installed at the beach concession– much to the delight of all the kitchen staff! ! A Sandwich table is a prep cook station that has a fridge underneath and an opening on top to access your serving items (think of subway with all the items lined up to make your burger!). This wonderful new addition has already made improvements to our service times and working conditions.
- Swimming Lessons start next week and we still have some spots in both weeks. Book online at emeraldlake.org
- The park has been busy with campers, seasonals and cabin owners this week and we are happy to see you all at the beach and out on the roads enjoying the beautiful park!
