Hot Hot Hot
Its been a warm week and we have been working hard to keep all the plants watered and the grass trimmed. We have also been busy:
- Refurbishing the east beach stairs – this is nearly complete, the last addition will be of a hand rail, we are excited to see this important asset brought up to snuff so patrons can safely get down to the water.
- Ordered parts for the new west beach stairs – watch for work happening there soon!
- Rototilling the sand at the volley ball court and horse shoe pits
- Starting to collect donations for our silent auction at Emfest. Have a donation? Bring it up to the main office!
- Our chocolate soft serve was a hit last weekend and we look forward to offering it again sometime in the future.
- Our new Secretary/treasurer has been hard at work, stopping in to see us every Friday and checking in on park operations. We appreciate her hard work!
- Our new kayak storage has been installed at the main beach. This will help our rental kayaks last longer, stay cleaner and be easier for staff to keep an eye on. Great work here Earl!
- Our burn pit has been reduced to ash, and is ready to collect the second half of the season’s cuttings and collections from around the park. Remember you are free to stop in and usurp any of the stacked logs at the burn pit (beside golf course hole number 3) free of charge!
- Our main store has been restocked with toys and sundries. We have milk, butter, buns, balls, kraft dinner, smore supplies to name just a few items!
- We continue to make and sell bags of ice at the beach store. You can get a bag at either the food or ice cream window for only $5 – a bargain to keep you cool on these hot days!
- EmFest volunteers are needed to:
o Organize pickleball tournament
o Organize volleyball tournament
o Organize horse shoe tournament
o Organize glow dance party
o Organize silent auction items
o Run Bingo
o Run Saturday night Jamboree
o Play an instrument at the Jamboree – all levels welcome! Beginners are encouraged to bring an instrument. Songbooks will be available in the main office to pick up and practice or just show up on the day.
o Golf carts for the golf cart parade – sign up at the main office
o Teams for the aforementioned sports tournaments – sign up at the main office
