It’s been a busy week!
Let’s start with a couple reminders from the board:
Between June 1st and September 1st the boat launch storage area is for use by non-lease holders, for day use only. Lease holders may request permission for winter storage use and in such cases all items must be removed by June 1st.
Public walkways around the park may not be used to store boats or other equipment. Please ensure you remove your boat at the end of each day.
And let’s add an opportunity!
We have moved our canoe rack to the boat launch for public use this summer! Feel free to store your canoe/kayak/paddle board for the weekend while you are up! Please remove items at the end of the weekend so others may have a turn storing their items near the water. This rack is used at your own risk, the park does not take responsibility for any items left unattended anywhere in the park.
The rack also has a QR code that connects to a pole asking for your opinion on its use. Please let us know what you think of this idea!
Now for park happenings:
- Our dedicated board had a successful walk around the park, checking out projects and looking at issues around the park. We appreciate all the hard work they put in and look forward to seeing some great things come out of our adventure!
- Our summer students have started working in the office on weekends, be sure to welcome them back!
- Shery has been busy painting planters and picnic tables. Watch for more painting around the park this summer as so many items are ready for a touch up.
- Earl has been hard at work replacing boards and screws on the picnic tables and those are looking in great shape for the summer and should last for quite a few more years with these little upgrades.
- Our diving platform has been undergoing repair and renovation: it has been welded and re-enforced, gotten new floats and new decking. Watch for it in the swimming area as soon as that wind calms down.
- We have been working on some new treats for you in our ice cream freezer at the main store! Watch for homemade ice cream sandwiches and push pop ice cream treats!
- We would love to hire a cleaner for one day a week and/or a baker for one morning a week – let us know if you would like to work with us this summer!
- The patio at the main store is getting some work done, making a lovely spot to have a cold drink after your round of golf!
- We now have a gumball and candy machine at the main store – bring your quarters for a sweet treat!
